Finite Cell Lines
Macaca fascicularis (Cynomolgus Monkey)
Skin
Adherent
CYNOM-K1 is a skin fibroblast finite cell line derived from a a Cynomologus monkey embryo. Cynomolgus Monkey (Macaca fascicularis) is also commonly known as the long-tailed macaque or crab-eating macaque. In in vitro transformation assay and in vivo tumorigenic evaluation, CYNOM-K1 cells exhibited free of any tumorigenic characteristics. In the test of poliovirus replication, the CYNOM-K1 cell line was permissive to the growth of Sabin poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, which made it a significant cell model for research and development of poliovirus vaccine.
