Terms and Conditions

Due to the specialized and temperature-sensitive nature of cellular and biological products, Ascent Research generally does not accept returns, refunds, or replacements. Exceptions may be considered after verification under the conditions below.

Claim requirements

Return requirements

• A return may be made only after written authorization from Ascent Research.
• Products must be unused, in their original packaging, and maintained under the required temperature conditions.
• Frozen cells must remain under appropriate dry-ice conditions; applicable media products must remain under appropriate cold-pack conditions.
• Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for return shipping, and Ascent Research will cover approved replacement shipping.

Non-returnable items

Custom products, perishable or fresh products, opened consumables, and products that have not been stored or handled according to instructions are not eligible for return.

Storage and handling

Products may require specific storage, transport, thawing, culture, or handling conditions. Customers must follow the applicable product documentation and written instructions.

Proper use

Customers are responsible for selecting products appropriate for their intended research and assume the risks arising from improper storage, handling, modification, or use.

Intended use

Products are supplied for research use only unless expressly stated otherwise. They are not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, clinical, food, household, or other unauthorized uses.

An invoice or order confirmation may be sent by email and may include itemized product pricing, shipping charges, applicable taxes, and other approved fees.

Accepted methods

• Credit card: Card issuer, foreign transaction, or other bank fees may apply.
• Wire transfer: Contact info@ascentresearch.com for payment instructions.
• PayPal: Not currently supported.

If a payment fails, Ascent Research may notify the customer by email and hold the order for up to 24 hours while payment is retried. An unpaid order may be canceled.

Order confirmation is generally sent by email within one business day after the order information has been received and reviewed.

Production and shipping

• Custom orders generally enter processing within 1-3 business days after confirmation. The actual production timeline depends on the project scope.
• In-stock products are generally prepared for shipment within 1-3 business days.
• Stock shortages, documentation issues, or other order exceptions are normally communicated within one business day after identification.

Shipping terms

• Listed prices exclude taxes unless expressly stated otherwise.
• U.S. customers may be charged applicable state or local sales tax.
• International customers are responsible for applicable import duties, VAT, customs charges, brokerage fees, and other destination-country costs.

The use of Ascent Research’s website and services is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, retained, and protected.

Before confirmation

An order may be canceled by email before it is confirmed.

After confirmation

Contact Ascent Research immediately. Cancellation is subject to the order status and any costs already incurred.

After shipment

An order cannot be canceled after it has shipped.

Custom orders

Cancellation fees may apply and may reach 100% of the order value when work, procurement, production, or testing is already in progress.

• Website text, images, graphics, software, documentation, and other content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, modification, republication, or commercial use is prohibited.
• The sale of a product does not grant an implied license to any patent, proprietary process, trademark, copyrighted material, or other intellectual property right.

• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
• The parties should first attempt to resolve a dispute through good-faith negotiation.
• If a dispute is submitted to arbitration by written agreement or as otherwise required, the proceeding will be conducted in Seattle, Washington, in English.
• Any dispute not resolved through negotiation or applicable arbitration may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction.

• Orders may be subject to U.S. export controls and destination-country import restrictions. Some products or destinations may be unavailable.
• Shipping costs and transit times vary by destination, carrier, customs processing, and temperature-control requirements.
• Customers are responsible for providing accurate import documentation, permits, end-use information, and other information required for customs or regulatory clearance.
• Customers are responsible for duties, VAT, customs fees, brokerage charges, storage charges, and other destination-related costs unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Limited warranty

Ascent Research warrants that products will meet the specifications expressly stated in the applicable product documentation at the time of shipment, subject to proper transport, storage, and handling. To the extent permitted by law, implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed.

Export compliance

Customers must comply with applicable U.S. export-control, sanctions, end-use, and end-user requirements, as well as applicable local laws.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ascent Research is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, handling, or use of products or services.
