Esophagus
Research on the Human Esophageal Epithelial Cells is essential to the study of esophageal cancer, Barrett's esophagus, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, esophageal adenocarcinoma, and reflux esophagitis. The esophagus is a muscular tube that connects the throat (pharynx) to the stomach. It uses rhythmic muscular contractions called peristalsis to transport food from the mouth to the stomach. It is divided into cervical, thoracic, and abdominal sections. The Human Esophageal Epithelial Cells are to be used with Human Esophageal Epithelial Cell Medium (Cat. No. ACM0042). This product is intended for laboratory in vitro use only. It is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
