3T3-Swiss albino is a fibroblast cell line derived from the embryo of disaggregated Swiss albino mouse. In the early report, although the 3T3 cells appeared fibroblast-like morphology, they growed flat, showing granularity, and are more resistant to trypsin digestion. When confluent, these cells exhibited some degree of contact inhibition. However, this contact inhibition was lost during continious passaging, which might result from the selective processes in cell culture.
