The hTERT-HPNE cell line is an hTERT-immortalized epithelial cell line derived from the human pancreatic duct. It was established by transducing hTERT cDNA into primary human pancreatic duct cells. These cells express the neuronal stem cell marker Nestin. The immortalization process extends their lifespan while preserving key non-cancerous characteristics, such as a diploid karyotype and the expression of wild-type p16(INK4a), p53, and K-Ras.
