Human vaginal epithelial cells are isolated from healthy female donors and represent the stratified squamous epithelium that lines the vaginal canal. These cells are used to model mucosal barriers, epithelial defense, and host-pathogen interactions. They play a key role in defending against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and are widely used in research to study vaginal microbiota interactions, hormonal regulation, and epithelial wound healing.
