LP-1 is a human myeloma cell line, derived from the peripheral blood of a patient who has IgG myeloma (with lambda light chain) in leukemic transformation. This LP-1 cell line therefore express IgG lambda chains. The leukemic transformation of myeloma give them parts of characteristics of immature plasma cells. The cell membrane shows an intermediate phenotype between late B lymphocytes and plasma cells.
