Rat brain cortex astrocytes from Wistar rat are freshly isolated from normal coticial tissue of Wistar Rats. Astrocytes are star-shaped glial cells found in the brain and spinal cord. They play essential roles in maintaining central nervous system (CNS) function, including contributing to the formation and integrity of the blood–brain barrier, providing metabolic support to neurons, and regulating extracellular ion balance.
