hTERT-immortalized Cell Lines

hTERT-immortalized Cell Lines are generated by ectopic expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), which extends telomeres and prevents replicative senescence without causing full malignant transformation. This category covers hTERT immortalized, telomerase-immortalized, and hTERT cell lines. These cells retain many normal physiological characteristics, including contact inhibition, growth factor dependence, and diploid karyotypes for many passages, making them valuable alternatives to primary cells for long-term studies. hTERT immortalized cells have an extended lifespan while maintaining normal responses to drugs, cytokines, and differentiation signals. Telomerase immortalized lines are less likely to become tumorigenic than oncogene-immortalized cells (e.g., SV40), because hTERT alone does not inactivate p53 or Rb. A hTERT cell line can be generated from almost any cell type, including fibroblasts, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and mesenchymal stem cells.

Specific products:
hTERT fibroblasts for aging and senescence research; these are used for replicative senescence studies, telomere biology, and as feeder layers.
hTERT keratinocytes for skin biology, wound healing, and differentiation studies.
hTERT endothelial cells for vascular studies, angiogenesis, and permeability assays.
hTERT osteoblastsfor bone biology, osteogenesis, and osteoporosis research.
hTERT chondrocytes for cartilage studies, osteoarthritis, and chondrogenesis.
hTERT adipocytes for obesity and metabolic research.
hTERT retinal cells for age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and visual cycle studies.
hTERT lung cells for pulmonary research, including COPD and fibrosis.
hTERT kidney cells for nephrotoxicity and drug transport studies.
hTERT intestinal cells for barrier function, nutrient absorption, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) studies.
hTERT pancreatic cells for diabetes and pancreatitis research.

Researchers use hTERT-immortalized cell lines for long-term studies without the variability of primary cells. Our telomerase-immortalized products are carefully characterized for karyotype, doubling time, and differentiation capacity. Our hTERT-immortalized Cell Lines category supports your research with normal-like, immortalized cells that retain physiological relevance.
