Bovine skeletal muscle satellite cells are muscle stem cells located between the basal lamina and sarcolemma of muscle fibers. They are mononucleated, undifferentiated, and proliferative. In other words, they have capacity to divide and differentiate into new muscle cells (myoblasts and then myotubes). Research on the Bovine skeletal muscle satellite cells is essential to the study of muscular dystrophies (e.g., Duchenne), sarcopenia, rhabdomyolysis, critical illness myopathy, and statin-induced myopathy. Skeletal muscle is one of the three muscle tissues in the body, and it attaches to bones to enable movement. This product is intended for laboratory in vitro use only. It is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
